Collagen and Animals
Posted by DARIUSZ MAJKA
Most people have heard of collagen as an anti-aging cosmetic product. It is correct, but it is also found in bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and etc. Collagen keeps skin looking young. With age collagen production decreases and its fibers break down more easily.
The same is with animals. They also can feel effects of reduction of collagen in their bodies. Collagen makes up 75% of animal skin and more than 30% of the body’s protein. Collagen is a fibrous protein and the major structural protein of connective tissue in animals as well as the main protein in mammals.
Thus it is so important to maintain an appropriate level of collagen in animals for their proper development and prevention of structural diseases.
